About FIRST Robotics Competition

Join us for the exhilarating FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), where high school students showcase their brilliance in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)! These events gather the brightest young minds to participate in qualifying matches that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Be a part of the action as students compete with their specially designed robots to conquer challenging tasks, all under the theme of CRESCENDO, celebrating the fusion of STEM skills with the arts. These events are hosted across nine district competitions in Ontario by FIRST Robotics Canada and their partners, and they mark the season’s pinnacle. Teams compete across multiple district events to earn points and secure their spot at the highly anticipated Provincial Championship.

From there, the journey continues for the chance to represent their region at the prestigious. FIRST World Championship Event in Houston, Texas.

We invite you to join us in celebrating these remarkable achievements! Our events are open to everyone, free of charge. See the list of locations and dates throughout March and early April. Take advantage of the excitement – see you there!

Bus Parking MapLoad in on Friday is busy. Teams may unload directly in front of the Surtees Centre. The driver must remain with the vehicle, and vehicles must be moved immediately when finished unloading. Buses and trailers are to park in the back half of Lot #9.

Teams are asked to park their smaller vehicles in Lot #5, (ie NOT trailers or buses) behind the Surtees Centre, which will be marked with FIRST signs. A marked path from the parking lot will direct team members down outdoor stairs to the main entrance.

Team Members requiring level access to the Surtees Centre from the parking lot may use the Volunteer and VIP entrance from Lot 5. Should Lot 5 fill up, additional parking is available in lot 1 or lot 9.

Teams should continue to park in assigned lots above on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, on Sunday, a portion of Lot 4 immediately in front of the Surtees Centre, is reserved for teams to park one vehicle per team, such as a bus or truck and trailer. This will allow teams to load out throughout the day as they see fit.

Additional buses and trailers must remain in lot 9, and other vehicles in the assigned lots. As with load-in, a driver must remain with any vehicle parked on the road in front of the Surtees Centre.

Volunteer Check-In

When you arrive at the event there will be a Volunteer Check-In Desk for you to meet the Volunteer Coordinator to welcome you and give you supplementary information to the emails you have received from them. You will also receive your Volunteer T-shirt and anything else you need specific to your role. They will give you instructions on where the Volunteer Lounge is located and who you will be reporting to for the event and receive any further training from.
