FIRST LEGO League Challenge

FIRST LEGO League Challenge introduces younger students (Ages 9-14 yrs) to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society.

First Robotics Challenge Lego Sets

Team Meeting Guides: A comprehensive guide that provides facilitators with step-by-step, easy-to-follow lesson plans about how to run twelve sessions of approximately 1.5 - 2.0 hours each. It includes student outcomes, handy tips, suggested tasks and guiding questions (click HERE to view a sample)

Engineering Notebooks: These colourful student workbooks provide spaces for students to document their learning throughout the engineering design process. It also serves as a wonderful resource and keepsake (click HERE to view a sample).

Challenge Sets: These exclusive sets include LEGO® elements and mat students will use build their themed playing field. Cost $110 + S&H. For individual teams please order directly from Spectrum (1-800-668-0600) and please have your team number ready when ordering.

Class Pack Guide: A digital guide with tips and best practices for running an informal tournament and celebration of learning in your classroom or school.

B.You also need at least one LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Core Set** (discontinued EV3 sets can still be used) ordered separately, a field table, compatible programming device, and an optional (but recommended) LEGO SPIKE Prime Expansion set, available for ~$190. These are a one time investment, as they are reusable year after year and can be ordered at any time, including before the season starts for extra prep time. Models built using these robotics sets can be programmed using free, LEGO software that is easy and intuitive, with drag and drop icons. In Canada, these sets are available from: Brault & Bouthillier, InkSmith, Spectrum, or Studica
