FIRST Robotics Canada is proud to partner with SHAD for the third year in a row. One FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) student will be awarded a full scholarship to attend SHAD 2019, a value of $5 700. New this year, a full scholarship to attend SHAD 2019 will also be awarded to an Indigenous FRC Canada student.

SHAD is a summer enrichment program where high potential high school students (grade 10 – 12) spend the month of July living in one of 17 host university campuses while engaging in experiential learning in STEAM  & Entrepreneurship. It is an opportunity to explore Canada, meet like-minded peers, gain an immersive campus learning experience and realize your potential as a Change Maker.

To be eligible for the SHAD-FRC scholarships, students must apply to SHAD 2019 by November 19. On the SHAD application, provide your FRC team name & number in the appropriate place.

The scholarship winner will be contacted in February and the winner will be announced at the Ontario District Championships.

Apply to SHAD at: www.shad.ca/apply. Learn more about this opportunity through the eyes of past FRC competitors here: www.shad.ca/FIRSTRoboticsCanada.htm or tune into the Ask the Expert Webinar on Oct 23.

The same aspects I love most about robotics – innovation, creativity, & teamwork to name a few – are the qualities that best define my SHAD experience. In addition to the incredibly strong sense of community, I will never forget the important tools SHAD gave me, as I continue to apply them in my current and future pursuits.”

– Catherine, SHAD’16

“SHAD allowed me to get hands on with robotics and learn even more than I could have imagined.”

– Andrew, SHAD’16
