FLL Ontario Innovation Celebration
FIRST Robotics Canada, in partnership with ventureLAB is hosting the 2nd annual Ontario Innovation Celebration on February 25th 2017.The focus of this event will be to bring 18 of the most innovative solutions to this year’s Animal Allies theme together in one location, to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges. The judges will then select the two most innovative solutions to represent Ontario in the Global Innovation Award competition, the winner of which will receive $20,000 to make their innovation a reality!
Leading up to our Ontario event on February 25th, teams will have the opportunity to receive professional coaching from industry experts in innovation, will be trained in how to make a professional sales pitch, and then will share their ideas in their official pitch to the judges.
Teams for the event will be selected for this event from three sources:
- 7 teams from the East Ontario Championships, ranked by the judges in the Innovation portion of the project rubric – Congratulations to Teams listed in the chart below
- 7 teams from the West Ontario Championships, ranked by the judges in the Innovation portion of the project rubric
- 4 teams (representing “wild cards”) from the FLL Qualifying system. These 4 teams will be selected after being nominated by their qualifying tournament judges, submitting the form below, and being selected by a panel of judges to be one of the four “wild card” spots for the event on February 25th.
